William Carron

William Carron Studied drawing at the National College of Art and Design and Studied mechanical engineering at Bolton St. College, Studied ceramics and pottery with Harry Horlock Stringer at Tagg's Yard, London. Elected member of Watercolour Society of Ireland, 1997 Elected member of Royal Hibernian Academy, 1996.

He has exhibited widly throughout the owrl including Dublin Painter's Gallery, 1966Kennedy gallery, 1989Kilcock Gallery, 1992Tom Wilson's Studio Gallery, 1978. Joint exhibitions with Barbara Warren RHA, Carroll Gallery, Longford, 1993Linenhall, Castlebar, 1998 RHA Annual Exhibitions Watercolour Society of Ireland Banquet RHA Oireachtas. Carron’s works are in major collections including Artist's self portrait – National Collection at Limerick UniversityWork in watercolour – Society of Ireland permanent collection in Limerick University.  Private Collections in Ireland, UK and United States.

This present work is Carron at his best, capturing the essence of Purteen dock yard. It’s obvious Carron is an artist with links to the past style of John Luke. Carron has grown and  followed great artists of the 20th century and his direct technical ability is seen with works of this period.
